Join our mission to bring the magic back to Managua, Nicaragua.
Having a bus has been magical in making it possible for a variety of groups from Alberta to bring much needed assistance and programs to communities in Nicaragua. Our current bus is no longer safe to use, and we are raising funds to replace it. Having a bus is the only way we can continue to connect with all of the communities, and you can help us purchase a used bus by making a donation so that we can refurbish it, and drive it back to Managua.
What makes the bus magic?
• It is the only form of transportation to bring together children from different areas to INPRHU sponsored activities in Managua.
• For 8 years it has been used for transporting those on dental missions and education tours with supplies to communities throughout Nicaragua.
• Provides transportation to many parts of Nicaragua including educators, students, water project and cultural groups.
To make a donation or for more information contact Shelaine Sparrow, Program Manager, Fund Development shelaine@changeforchildren.org
This two week trip is open to all dental professionals but is designed for hearty outdoor travelers and involves lengthy canoe trips, portaging, time spent outside in the rain, intense sunlight, heat and wind.
Participants will visit communities in the Bosawas Biosphere, known as the “Lungs of Central America”, and will work in remote indigenous communities, performing extractions, treating infections and providing pain relief.

From the staff
and board at CFCA we thank you immensely for your incredible support
and generosity this year.
We have accomplished
great things with your donations. This past year our Children's
Rights Education and our Water and Sanitation projects were completed
in Nicaragua and resulted in the improvement of over 100,000 children's
lives. A new phase for each of these projects is slated to begin
in 2010.
Both the Community
Health Project in El Salvador and the Agricultural Training and
Micro-Credit Project in Uganda continue to achieve amazing results
and, with your support, have exceeded their planned number of beneficiaries.
In Guatemala, the 4th Change for Children Primary School is slated
for completion in early February, which will allow another 240 Mayan
Mam indigenous students to attend primary school.
The New Year
will bring with it the excitement of organizing and establishing
two brand new projects: one focusing on Food Security (including
agricultural training, nutrition education and disaster preparedness)
for indigenous communities in the jungles of Honduras and Nicaragua,
and another on Water Well Drilling in Sierra Leone.
Here at home
we finished our two year Rural Roots: Communities in Action project
with hundreds of youth participants; a child rights mural; 3rd Video
Conference for Hope; and our first ever Just Teach-a delegation
of educators to Nicaragua.
Happy Holidays
and a peaceful, joyous New Year
