South Africa - HIV/AIDS outreach and community development via
Edzimkulu
PARTNER: Edzimkulu
In the Underberg region of the KwaZulu-Natal Province, a little
village called Ndawana has been decimated by HIV/AIDS. Edzimkulu
is working with the people of Ndawana to help develop resources
in their community. A centre is being built to unify the community
by providing a facility for education, training, and manufacturing
activities. Edzimkulu will also provide medical care which currently
does not exist in Ndawana.
This charity organization they formed to support this project
is called Edzimkulu – A society for children of HIV/AIDS.
We have made this project a benefactor of Hands Across Africa
for a couple of reasons. We feel that this grassroots project
has much of the same basic values as Hands Across Africa. Simply
put, people just banding together to help ''lift the lives of
