Fourth annual Doctors and Derrieres
May 8, 2009,

Baring it all in the name of global health
Sixteen medical students from the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry at the University of Alberta had no hesitation posing nude for 25 local artists representing Edmonton’s best and brightest talent. The resulting art work will be auctioned off at the fourth annual Doctors and Derrieres art auction. All proceeds will go to Change for Children’s Emergency Social Health Fund in rural El Salvador. Social Justice Tour for teachers and educators:

Human Rights, Realities and Solutions
Change for Children is now accepting applications for 12 educators to participate in an incredible professional development opportunity. This summer Change for Children is offering a social justice and human rights tour to Nicaragua. Participants will meet Change for Children partners who are human rights advocates and educators for children and youth. The tour also offers participants with the opportunity to dialogue about Education for Global citizenship within Alberta and Canadian classrooms

Continuing the Amani Vocational Training Project in Tanzania
Change for Children-in conjunction with Hands Across Africa, a local community group in Edmonton, supports Amani’s Vocational Training Program which provides orphan children living at Amani Children's home with local employment opportunities.

Radio-Drama Project a Great Success in Lima, Peru!
Change for Children’s Radio Drama Project in the barrio of Villa El Salvador in Lima, Peru is implemented by Manos Libres, a small Peruvian NGO that works primarily with women, youth and children in the urban shanty communities. Teenage mothers learn and employ creative, empowering methods to tell their stories and offer advice and resources to their peers.

Raise Your Voice Youth Leadership Training, Rural Roots
From October 18-19, 2008, over 20 young people and 10 youth facilitators came together in the northern community of Peace River, AB, to talk about leadership and social justice in their communities and around the world.
