Have you thought about leaving a legacy to help us continue
to work for social justice?
Leaving a legacy to Change for Children is a great way to
honour your lifetime values, and make a difference in the
world while reducing your tax burden now and into the future.
Endowment Fund
Change for Children has worked to promote systemic change
and sustainable development through solidarity and partnership
for the last 30 years. Today, our hope is to build an Endowment
Fund to ensure we continue to maintain an integral, vital
and stable organization to carry on this work well into
the future. The interest generated annually by this fund
will be used as project seed money.
Wills
When you write your will, you can make a bequest in the
form of cash or property by including Change for Children
Association as a beneficiary. You may also make a residual
bequest to Change for Children; a residual bequest is a
gift of all or a fraction of whatever remains after all
debts, taxes, expenses and other bequests are paid. Here
is an example of what you can write:
"I give to Change for Children Association, currently
located at 2nd Floor, 10808-124 Street, Edmonton, Alberta,
T5M 0H3, the sum of $_______ (or ________% of my estate)
to be used in support of its general charitable purposes."
Life Insurance Policy
You can name Change for Children Association as the owner
and beneficiary of a new or existing life insurance policy.
A gift of life insurance is separate from your estate and
has no effect on its assets. Please consult a financial
advisor or lawyer for more information.
Donating Assets-stocks,
bonds, mutual funds
If you own stocks, bonds, or mutual funds shares that are
traded on certain stock exchanges, you can donate them to
Change for Children Association. The impact on your taxes
is substantial. Please consult a financial advisor for more
information on how to go about making this kind of donation.
Retirement Funds
You may also give a gift of RSP or RIF funds by naming your
estate as the beneficiary and then providing an equivalent
bequest to Change for Children Association.
